From The NYS DOT:
Beginning Tuesday June 4, 2019 our contractor, McNamee Construction Corp., will be mobilizing to the bridge and will close the west sidewalk on the bridge as well as shoulder/parking spaces on the west side of the bridge. The contractor will be replacing the existing sidewalk on the bridge and a few sidewalk panels on the approach to the bridge. The contractor is estimating this work to take approximately 3 weeks weather permitting. During this time the east sidewalk will remain open and pedestrian access to all the businesses will be maintained. Both lanes on the bridge will be opened with the occasional need to temporarily close one lane across the bridge but alternating two-way traffic will be maintained across the bridge.
July 8, 2019 is our target date for closing the bridge to vehicular traffic and establishing the off-site detour. During this time the contractor will be replacing the east sidewalk, replacing the concrete deck on the bridge as well as some minor asphalt paving on Route 17A. During this time pedestrian traffic will be able to utilize the west sidewalk and once again pedestrian access to all the businesses will be maintained.
The work requiring the closing of the bridge and off-site detour is scheduled to be completed by August 6, 2019, weather permitting. Following August 6th the off-site detour will be removed, the bridge open to traffic and only minor work on the bridge and sidewalks should remain. The plan is to be complete with all the work by the end of August 2019.
