NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION FOR FUNDING OF A CAPITAL PROJECT SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a meeting held on the 21st day of April, 2025, the Village Board of the Village of Warwick, Orange County, New York, duly adopted a Resolution authorizing expenditure of $200,457 from the Infrastructure Reserve Fund on a capital project, to wit: purchase of streetlights, which expenditure is subject to permissive referendum pursuant to New York State Village Law Article 9.
Abstract: The Village of Warwick has undertaken a capital improvement project to purchase and replace streetlights in the Village. The Village Board proposes to fund the purchase of the streetlights by transferring $200,457 from the Infrastructure Reserve Fund to General Fund. The said expenditure is subject to permissive referendum.
Pursuant to Village Law Article 9, the said Resolution shall not take effect until at least thirty (30) days after its adoption; nor until approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified electors of the Village voting on a proposition for its approval if within thirty (30) days after adoption of the said Resolution there be filed with the Village Clerk a petition signed and acknowledged by electors of the village in number equal to at least twenty per centum of such electors in the village, as shown on the register of electors for the previous general village election, protesting against such act or resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the electors of the village for their approval or disapproval.
A copy of the Village Board’s Resolution approving the aforesaid expenditure of funds from the purchase of streetlights is available for public inspection on the Village’s website HERE and at the Village Clerk’s Office, Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Warwick, NY 10990 during normal business hours.
