Warwick Tax Collection Schedule

Tax payments are due without penalty within their respective month.

The Village of Warwick tax payment schedule is as follows:

– June 1 – July 1, no penalty.
– July 2 – July 31, 5% penalty;
– August 1 – August 31, 6% penalty;
– September 1 – September 30, 7% penalty;
– October 1 – October 31, 8% penalty.

After these dates, Village taxes are payable to the Orange County Commissioner of Finance in Goshen, NY from November 1 through November 15. Unpaid taxes after November 15 will be re-levied onto the January County/Town tax bill.

    • Up to 5 years of tax payment history at the Village level.

In-Person Tax Payments at Village Hall

Location & Hours

  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Closed for all government holidays.

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Check: Payable to the Village of Warwick.

For after-hour payments, a secure drop box is located to the left of the front doors. 

Forms

If you have a grievance regarding your Village Taxes, you may submit a tax grievance form.

A complaint on real property must be received in the Village Clerk’s Office prior to Tax Grievance Day.

Requesting a Change of Mailing Address for the Assessor and Tax Receiver

If you need to update the mailing address on file for your property, you must submit a Request to Amend the Mailing Address.

Requirements for Address Change Requests:

  • Who Can Submit: Only the property owner may request an address change.
  • Submission Method: Requests must be made in writing and signed by the property owner.

Tax Exemption Forms

Senior Citizens Partial Tax Exemption

  • Purpose: For seniors applying for the partial tax exemption for the first time.
  • Requirements: Applicants must meet age and income eligibility criteria.
  • What You Need: Submit proof of age, income documentation, and ownership of the property.

Senior Citizens Partial Tax Exemption Renewal

  • Purpose: For seniors who already receive the exemption and need to renew it annually.
  • Requirements: Renewal is required every year to confirm continued eligibility.
  • What You Need: Provide updated income documentation and any other requested forms.

Alternative Veterans Exemption from Real Property Taxation

  • Purpose: For veterans applying for a property tax exemption for the first time.
  • Requirements: Applicants must have served in the military during a designated time of war or received an expeditionary medal, and meet other eligibility criteria.
  • What You Need: Submit proof of military service (e.g., DD-214), discharge status, and any additional required documentation.

Renewal Application for Alternative Veterans Exemption

  • Purpose: For veterans who already receive the exemption and have experienced a change in service-connected disability compensation rating.
  • Requirements: Applicants must provide updated information reflecting their new disability compensation rating.
  • What You Need: Submit documentation of the updated disability rating and any additional required forms.

Application for Volunteer Firefighters/Ambulance Workers Exemption

  • Purpose: For volunteer firefighters and ambulance workers applying for a property tax exemption for the first time.
  • Requirements: Applicants must actively serve as a volunteer firefighter or ambulance worker and meet local eligibility criteria.
  • What You Need: Provide proof of residency.

Tax exempt and renewal forms must be returned to the Village Clerk’s Office by
December 31 to be considered for an exemption for the upcoming tax season in June.
