NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION FOR FUNDING OF A CAPITAL PROJECT SUBJECT TO PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a meeting held on the 21st day of April, 2025, the Village Board of the Village of Warwick, Orange County, New York, duly adopted a Resolution authorizing expenditure of $430,000 from the Village’s Parking Lot Reserve Fund on a capital project, to wit: funding of the Village’s proposed purchase of the Chase Parking Lot (21 South Street, Warwick NY; Tax Map Section 211, Block 4, Lot 9) from JPMorgan Chase Bank, which expenditure is subject to permissive referendum pursuant to New York State Village Law Article 9.

Abstract: The Village of Warwick is negotiating a proposed contract to purchase the Chase Parking Lot (21 South Street, Warwick NY; Tax Map Section 211, Block 4, Lot 9) for use as a public parking lot subject to certain reservations of right in JPMorgan Chase Bank. The Village Board proposes to fund the purchase of the parking lot by use of funds in the Village’s Parking Lot Reserve Fund.  The proposed expenditure of funds from the Village’s Parking Lot Reserve Fund is subject to permissive referendum.

Pursuant to Village Law Article 9, the said Resolution shall not take effect until at least thirty (30) days after its adoption; nor until approved by the affirmative vote of a majority of the qualified electors of the Village voting on a proposition for its approval if within thirty (30) days after adoption of the said Resolution there be filed with the Village Clerk a petition signed and acknowledged by electors of the village in number equal to at least twenty per centum of such electors in the village, as shown on the register of electors for the previous general village election, protesting against such act or resolution and requesting that it be submitted to the electors of the village for their approval or disapproval.

A copy of the Village Board’s Resolution approving the proposed expenditure of funds is available for public inspection on the Village’s website HERE and at the Village Clerk’s Office, Village Hall, 77 Main Street, Warwick, NY 10990 during normal business hours.
