FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE: Fun Alert: Authors, Artists and Apples Oh My!

It looks like a glorious Fall weekend ahead with plenty to do throughout the Valley. One of the best family events is the annual Warwick Children’s Book Festival Saturday October 8th, 11am -4pm at Stanley Deming Park. There will be some 80 Authors and Illustrators on hand with their latest books that will be for sale. This is a great opportunity for kids to meet the hands and minds behind the book as well as having the book signed and personalized. Yes, think Christmas!

The Festival began in 2005 and is organized annually  by the Albert Wisner Public Library. The event is generously sponsored by Susan D. and Glenn Dickes who have been strong community advocates on the forefront of literacy. Other sponsors include the Village of Warwick, Warwick Valley Telephone, the Warwick Valley Farmers Market and ShopRite of Warwick.

Stanley Deming Park is the perfect setting for the Festival especially with our remarkable and accessible playground . There will be three food trucks and public bathrooms are available. At noon the much-loved Uncle Brothers Band with singer-songwriter Tom Gardener and colleagues will perform at the bandstand.

So a good reason to spend time in one our most beloved parks and participate in one of our favorite events. Hope to see you there!
