FROM THE MAYORS OFFICE: Run, Run, Run! George Washington 5K

This Saturday, July 23, 2022, will be the second annual George Washington Day Run sponsored by the Warwick Valley Historical Society. The run uses Village streets! The Start/Finish line is it Veteran’s Memorial Park, 29 Forester Avenue. The start format is that runners will be self-seeded at 8:30 a.m. from the Start/Finish arch, overall winners are based on a gun start.

The race website is www.wrawickhistory.org Race Day registration is available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

This is a family fun event and whether you run, walk, or observe there is plenty of excitement. The run is also a fundand friend raiser. The proceeds go to the Warwick Historical Society whose mission is to preserve, protect and instill a sense of history and pride. This work is ongoing and is an important part of the foundation of the Village and its Historic District. The Society will have some of its museum buildings open on Saturday. This is a great moment to see some of Warwick’s earliest residences and to understand some of the dynamics that have shaped us. This weekend’s Summer Concert is Saturday evening July 23 at Railroad Green. The band is Dark Horses and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.
