FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE – Countdown 150!!

Special thanks to the Warwick Valley Gardeners and the Warwick Merchants Guild for sponsoring such great events this past weekend.  Both events, the Sesquicentennial Village Garden Tour and “Picker’s Paradise” were blessed with perfect weather and large attendance.  The year of Sesquicentennial activities has given us so many memories with more to come!!

The countdown for the Sesquicentennial Weekend starts NOW!! and we could surely use a helping hand for the long weekend of activities.  We are meeting at Village Hall every Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. as we plan multiple days of festivities from August 2nd to 5th.  Bring your talent and energy for a memorable event.  For more information, please call 986-2031.

Another way to be involved is to create a float for your business or organization for the Float Parade on August 5th.  There are many contests that are planned including:  Best Patriotic Display and Bunting, A Beard and Mustache Contest and The Most Amazing Jello Mold Contest!!

This is all about fun, so be part of it and help us celebrate the culmination of 150 years!!

If you remember the Centennial from 1967, Mary Collura is working on a documentary film called, “Encapsulate”.  Share your memories; she would love to hear from you.  You can reach Mary at maryccollura@gmail.com.

Information about the Sesquicentennial activities can be found at Warwick150.org, Facebook Warwick 150 and on WTBQ Radio 1110 a.m. and 93.5 FM which airs every Thursday at 11 a.m.

The next Village Board meeting is Monday, July 17th at 7:30 p.m. in Village Hall.
