On Friday, April 28th, 2023, at 9:15 a.m. the Village of Warwick will be having a tree-planting ceremony at the Roger Metzger Arboretum in Stanley Deming Park.

The Village of Warwick’s Shade Tree Commission, myself, the Village Board, the Warwick Valley Gardeners, and the first-grade classes from Park Avenue School will be on hand as we celebrate Arbor Day and the 39th year that the Village has received national recognition as a Tree City USA. I will speak as well as Patricia Reinhardt from the Warwick Valley Gardeners. Wadeson Home Center will be distributing saplings to all the children who attend. This is a fun event, and all are invited.

The Warwick Valley Gardeners and the Town of Warwick’s Shade Tree Commission will be having a tree planting ceremony the same day, April 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain Lake Park. The Village of Warwick has recently become the first Monarch City in NY State. The designation is part of a nationwide campaign to increase awareness of the endangerment of Monarch butterflies. This goes hand in hand with the creation of pollinator pathways throughout our communities which the Warwick Valley Gardeners are spearheading. Creating a pollinator meadow is a fun family project that has incredible benefits that positively affect the sustainability of thousands of species.

The next Village Board meeting will take place on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall, 771 Main Street.
