The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival began August 18th and will go through August 22nd. This the 13th year of this beloved series. The concerts are throughout the Hudson Valley with multiple venues each day and are held often in intimate formats such as clubs, restaurants, galleries.

We are lucky to have a number of concerts right in our own backyard.

This evening August 19th the Latin Jazz Siete will be at Lewis Park at 6:30 p.m. This concert is sponsored by The Warwick Historical Society and the Town of Warwick.

Tomorrow, August 20th at 3:00 p.m., will be an Improv Music session presented by Brian Kastan and Guests at the Continuum Art and Photography Studio/Gallery, 97 Windermere Ave., Greenwood Lake.

Later on August 20th, at 7:00 p.m. Slide Attack will be performing at the Thomas Morahan Lake Front, Windermere Avenue, presented by the Village of Greenwood Lake.

On the same evening, August 20th at 7:30 p.m. Oz Noy with Anton Fig will be performing on Railroad Green. This concert is sponsored by the Village of Warwick.

On Sunday, August 21st at 2:00 p.m. the Albert Wisner Library presents Bill Ware & the Upstate Allstars, performing at the Albert Wisner Library, McFarland Dr., Warwick.

Also on Sunday, August 21st at 5:30 p.m. Joe Tranchina Composers will be performing at the Buckbee Center, 2 Colonial Ave., Warwick. This concert is presented by a partnership of the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival and The Warwick Historical Society.

Steve Rubin, musician and local resident, developed the Festival. It’s grown to be an event that is recognized for its quality and resourcefulness. Congratulations, Steve, for sharing this incredible music and talent with us.

We have our own cultural epicenter here in the Warwick Valley. This past week was the Warwick Valley Film Festival at the Warwick Drive-In and coming up on August 27th, noon to 11:00 p.m. is the Fuller Moon Arts Festival at the Former Kurtz Camp, 46 Bowen Road Warwick. The one-day event is a celebration of the convergence of performance, art and nature. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for Seniors and Children 6-18. The event is sponsored and produced by Wickham Works, Orange County Arts Council and the Warwick Dance Collective.
