Orange and Rockland, recognizing that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused economic hardship for low-income families and individuals, will implement the Electric and Gas Bill Relief Program to relieve qualifying residential customers of past due utility debt. The program, which Orange and Rockland helped design and propose, is consistent with an order by the New York State Public Service Commission. It is also consistent with the company’s desire to help low-income customers struggling with rising energy prices while trying to afford necessities such as food, housing and medicine.
