RESOLUTION: Amending Schedule of Fees

RESOLUTION AMENDING SCHEDULE OF FEES

WHEREAS, the Village of Warwick maintains a schedule of fees which includes a section entitled “Penalty Assessments” which imposes a penalty on utility payments made more than 30 days after the bill date in the amount of 5% of the total bill on payments received 1 to 30 days after the due date and an additional 3% of the total bill on payments received 31 to 60 or more days after the due date; and

WHEREAS, in consideration of the current health crises and economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 virus, the Village wishes to waive the penalties for late payments of the said utility bills beginning April 1, 2020 and continuing until further action of the Village Board; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:

  1. That effective immediately the Schedule of Fees is amended to suspend the aforesaid provision entitled “Penalty Assessments”, and effective April 1, 2020 the penalty  imposed under the aforesaid provision for failure to make utility payments within 30 days of the bill date is hereby waived and shall not be imposed again until such time as the Village Board enacts a resolution reinstating the said penalties; and

Trustee McManus presented the foregoing resolution which was seconded by Trustee Cheney,

I, RAINA ABRAMSON, Village Clerk of the Village of Warwick, in the County of Orange, State of New York HEREBY CERTIFY that the above motion was made at a special meeting of the Village Board of the Village of Warwick duly called and held on Thursday, March 26, 2020 and has been compared by me with the original minutes as officially recorded in the Village Clerk’s Office in the Minute Book of the Village Board and is a true, complete and correct copy thereof and of the whole of said original minutes so far as the same relate to the subject matter.
