Oak Tree to be Removed

The large white oak on Oakland Avenue in front of Sterling Bank will be removed Tuesday, October 23rd. The work will commence at 9:30 a.m. and will be performed by Hickory Tree Service. This historic tree has succumbed to various diseases overtime and removal is necessary. This ancient oak sits along what was the original Kings Highway which was a colonial route that connected Philadelphia to Newburgh. One imagines that General Washington and his soldiers rode past this tree during our nations fight for independence. Sadly, we are losing a bit of Warwick’s history. A new oak will be planted close by to start anew!
