FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE – Haunting!

The famous Headless Horseman made a trip from Sleepy Hollow to Main Street, Warwick this past weekend. I was outside my store checking the details of a window display when I heard a distant clippity-clop. When I turned around, and to my great surprise, the Horseman came down Main Street on a magnificent steed. What a site amidst the Friday evening social going on!

As I write, this Halloween is still before us, as is the “Scare the Mayor” contest. It should be a busy couple of days and of course scary / fun!

I visited the remarkable “Casa de los Muertos” on Saturday night. The entire Community Center on Hamilton Avenue was transformed into a very scary haunted house. This was a fundraiser for the Community Center, organized by Wickham Works, Doc Fry Sessions and part of the Sesquicentennial Calendar. This was a tremendous theatrical production put on by hundreds of volunteers. Excellent work by all.

What next? The next Second Sunday Conversation will be November 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Old School Baptist Meeting House.
