FROM THE MAYOR’S OFFICE – A Warwick Snapshot

If you get a chance, please visit the time capsule exhibit at the Buckbee Center.  This is another wonderful collaborative with the Warwick Historical Society and we are grateful for their continued generosity.  The show is a small journey to 1967 including ephemera and artifacts from local businesses, a radio tube, even a piece of candy from the local 5 and 10!  This is a fascinating glimpse into a much simpler time.

The new time capsule will be buried October 14th so there is time to write a letter to the future.  Letters should be in a number 10 envelope measuring 4 1/8” by 9 1/2”.  Boxes are in various locations including Village Hall, the Buckbee Center, Track 7, Frazzleberries, Newhard’s, and Ye Olde Book Shoppe.

Also put on your calendar: Warwick Community Photo, Veteran’s Memorial Park, Saturday, September 23rd at 2 p.m. with a rain date of Sunday, September 24th.

Suddenly September and school is about to begin.  Teachers and administrators having been busy making way for the new year.  Best wishes to all our students especially our Kindergarten classes as they begin their academic adventure.

Please be attentive to students walking to school and please plan your commute with the understanding that there are many school buses on the road.

It still feels like summer, but fall is right before us.  This is a magical time in the Warwick Valley.  Take a moment and drive around the Town and take in its beauty.  I never tire of it – always changing, always surprising.

A very happy 75th anniversary to Warwick’s EMS.  Congratulations and thank you to the volunteers that keep us safe.
